How Our Education Program Changed Mercy’s Life

Breaking the Cycle of Poverty Through Education

When Mercy first came to our attention in 2021, she was a quiet 10-year-old girl living with her widowed mother in a small village outside Koinadugu and Falaba. Her dream was simple — to become a nurse so she could help others. But her mother, who worked as a petty trader, couldn’t afford school fees or textbooks. Mercy was on the verge of dropping out of school.

That changed when we  stepped in through our Education for All Program.

We provided her with school supplies, uniforms, and full tuition support. But beyond financial help, we connected her with a mentor — a local nurse — who began guiding her toward her dream career.

More Than Just Schooling — Building Confidence and Dreams

Today, Mercy is thriving. She attends classes regularly, participates in spelling competitions, and has become a role model for her peers. She says, “Now I know I can become who I want to be — because someone believed in me.”

Her story is just one of hundreds. Our Education for All program continues to reach children in rural and urban communities, ensuring that no child’s potential is wasted due to poverty.
